Funeral for Brianna Ghey

Brianna Ghey, a 16-year-old from Warrington, was found stabbed to death in Culcheth Linear Park in February of this year.

Two 15-year-old teenagers have been charged with her murder, and their trial is scheduled to begin in July at Liverpool Crown Court.

The details of Brianna’s funeral have been announced, with the service taking place at St Elphins Parish Church in Warrington on March 15 at 2.45 pm.

The dress code for the funeral is pink, and parking will be available at Sainsbury’s. Chester Pride has encouraged people to attend and wear pink in honour of Brianna.

In a statement, Brianna’s family described her as a much-loved daughter, granddaughter, and sister who was a larger-than-life character with a great sense of humour.

They expressed their devastation at her loss and acknowledged its impact on her teachers and friends.

Following Brianna’s death, hundreds of people attended candlelit vigils in her honour across various cities, including Dublin, Belfast, Manchester, Lancaster, and Leeds.

The two teenagers charged with Brianna’s murder appeared at Liverpool Crown Court via video link on February 16, where a trial date of July 10 was set.

They have been remanded into youth detention accommodation until a plea and trial preparation hearing on May 2.
