In Germany, a lady lost her life after falling from her rollercoaster seat.
The unidentified 57-year-old victim was ejected from the ride at the Klotten, Germany, Klotti Wildlife and Leisure park on Saturday afternoon and died after falling 26 feet.
The last statement from public prosecutors on Monday said there was “no suspicion” of criminal activity, despite the fact that police had been attempting to determine if her death was the “responsibility of a third party.”
The German lady, from Sankt Wendel in the Saarland area, passed away at the scene after rescuers unsuccessfully attempted CPR on her.
She “slid out of her seat when the carriage drove over a bend before she fell off the track from a height of roughly eight metres,” the Koblenz public prosecutor’s office claims.
According to reports from the German publication Bild, the tragedy occurred on a section of the ride that was difficult to reach and blocked off, which may have complicated rescue operations.
Administrators from the park said yesterday night on Instagram that all of the attractions will be accessible to the public starting today, with the exception of the ride that was involved in the disaster, after shutting the park for three days after the event.
Although the Technical Inspection Association (TÜV) of Germany is said to have examined and approved the coaster, Klotti Park has said that it aims to have the attraction tested a second time to make sure it is in perfect operational condition and secure for patrons before it opens.
As the victim’s corpse is scheduled to undergo a post-mortem examination, investigators are allegedly working with the TÜV to check the ride’s “approved and test documentation from supervisory authorities” and ask witnesses.
Dear Visitors, we will reopen our KLOTTI park beginning tomorrow, August 9, 2022, according to a statement from Klotti Park that was first issued in German yesterday.
Authorities continue to look into what caused the collision. The on-site investigations are now complete, and the roller coaster that was involved in the accident was promptly put back into service.
Nevertheless, we made the precautionary decision to have the system examined by the TÜV once again. As a result, the roller coaster is still now closed.
We are still severely impacted, and returning to normal life will be difficult for us.
We wish the family much courage and fortitude during these trying times, and our thoughts are with them.
The park acknowledged its “horror and disbelief” at the tragedy in a previous statement published on Sunday, some 24 hours after the deadly occurrence, and offered its “deepest sympathy” to the deceased’s family.
In order to assist the authorities, we will also keep Klotti Park closed on Monday, August 8, 2022.
“We would like to take this opportunity to offer the family, close friends, and loved ones our sincere condolences!” Our group is still in awe and disbelief.
Since the accident’s origin is yet unknown, we are unable to predict how the parking operations will function over the following several days.
“Thank you for your patience!”
Following its inauguration in 1970, Klotti continued to be a wildlife park for many years, but in the 1990s it started to broaden its offerings to become a larger leisure destination with theme park activities.
