Today, Governor Ron DeSantis awarded Suwannee County over $1,9 million from the Florida Job Growth Grant Fund. Suwannee County Catalyst Site, a 500-acre industrial park strategically positioned between I-10 and U.S. 90, will benefit from this initiative.
The funds provided today will assist Suwannee County in expanding its water distribution infrastructure and treatment facilities to accommodate the influx of commercial firms and promote economic growth. This initiative is anticipated to create 1,040 employment in the region, including positions in high-demand industries such as manufacturing and distribution.
“The Department of Economic Opportunity is proud to support Governor DeSantis’ efforts to invest in Florida communities to attract new businesses and create new opportunities for hardworking Floridians,” said Florida Department of Economic Opportunity (DEO) Secretary Dane Eagle. “We will continue to work closely with communities like Suwannee County to connect them with unique opportunities that stimulate their local economies and maximize positive impacts on their residents.”
The Florida Job Growth Grant Fund is a programme meant to promote public infrastructure and worker training across the state. Governor DeSantis selects proposals after DEO and Enterprise Florida, Inc. (EFI) examine them in order to address the requests for workforce training or infrastructure requirements in communities around the state.
