Niger State Pilgrims Welfare Board in North Central Nigeria, has been commended for having one of the best Hajj fare collection systems and pilgrims’ coordinating strategy.
This was stated by officials of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria, NAHCON during facilities inspection of the Niger state Hajj camp in Minna the State capital.
According to Danladi Hassan Idris ,The Niger State pilgrims welfare board’s spokesperson, Alhaji Ahmad Mohammed the leader of the NAHCON delegation was impressed by the facilities provided at the permanent hajj camp, describing it as “marvelous and up to standard”.
” New hostels for both male and female intending pilgrims with modern facilities were built, also facilities needed in a typical hajj camp aside the hostels, such as eqiuped security post, health center, canteens, Custom, immigration and fire service post were all provided and ready for full operations in the camp” added Idris
The head of the delegation also commended the Governor of Niger State, Abubakar Sani Bello, for his support to the state Pilgrims Welfare Board activities.
Meanwhile the Executive Secretary of the State Pilgrims Welfare Board, Alhaji Umar Makun Lapai, who said the agency is fully committed to pilgrims welfare and transparency ,mentioned that the State has the highest number of the pilgrims in the last exercise before COVID-19 and that none of them absconded while in the Holy Land,
Equally, Barrister Muhammad Umar, a member of the board, who commended the development activities of the National Haji Commission ,however assured the Commission that Niger State would continue to work harder for successful hajj operations.
