During a Rossiya Airlines flight from Sochi, some oxygen masks failed during a 25,000ft plunge, leaving 167 passengers, including 21 children, gasping for breath.
A horrifying video shows passengers desperately trying to breathe through broken oxygen masks. As a result of the sharp drop in pressure on the “ancient” Boeing-737-800, which was flying towards Krasnoyarsk, Siberia, five people required medical attention.
The state-owned airline, which is part of the Aeroflot group, is currently under a criminal investigation for the incident, according to state media. The cause of the accident is being investigated by air investigators, with a ‘violation of safety rules’ suspected.
