This week, an Irish woman’s email claiming that her ASOS buy of New Balance sneakers will take at least 803 business days to arrive “due to a delay with our delivery partner” went viral.
“My friend ordered a package through my ASOS, and it will arrive 803 days later than anticipated. “She simply needs to wait 26 months for the package,” Kerri Kinsella remarked in a Wednesday tweet that received over 12,000 likes.
Kinsella, age 30, disclosed to Jam Press that she had paid for ASOS next-day delivery for a full year, which made the entire sole-crushing ordeal even more perplexing.
One Twitter user responded to Kinsella’s post with a purported ASOS late-delivery notification of his own. On the 11th of December, the customer was informed that the item would arrive 2,040 working days later than anticipated.
“I actually laughed out loud because I thought it was a joke,” Kinsella said of the delivery notice.

The shipment is due in March 2031 if weekends and holidays are excluded.
A spokeswoman for ASOS told Jam Press, “We are aware that certain consumers have received emails informing them that their package will not be delivered for quite some time.”
The apparel retailer’s statement continued, “We apologize for the error, which was caused by a technical issue that has since been fixed. We’ve informed all affected consumers that their packages will arrive one day later than anticipated, not ten years!”
According to Jam Press, the sneakers ordered by Kinsella’s acquaintance on December 12 were scheduled to be delivered by Fastway Couriers. The corporation did not respond to the outlet’s request for comment. There are several Reddit threads taking issue with the business’ service in Ireland.
An ASOS rep apologized for the glitch as other Twitter users shared their own late-delivery notices.

Kinsella and her friend didn’t go postal over the situation — instead they shared a chuckle.
“I was thinking to myself, the trainers she ordered would probably be in fashion now, go out of fashion and arrive back in fashion by the time they are delivered!” Kinsella snickered.
“We laughed about it, but it just confirmed to never, ever trust ASOS next-day delivery.”
Twitter users also had a field day in the comments.
One person posted: “I’d nearly keep it just to see if it actually arrives in 803 days LOL.”
“Hope this is a glitch,” noted someone else.
Another person delivered the classic line, “Better late than never.”
“OMG hope it’s worth the wait,” a commenter penned.
