Long-running singing competition reality show Idols SA is coming to a close.
The forthcoming 19th season of Idols on Mzansi Magic will be the show’s “farewell season,” providing ambitious South Africans with their final opportunity to audition for the show.
Idols premiered on the M-Net channel in 2002, twenty-one years ago.
The comedian Somizi Mhlongo, the musician and producer JR Bogopa, and the actress and vocalist Thembi Seete will serve as judges for the final round of the tournament.
The show will once again be hosted and produced by ProVerb.
Auditions for Idols SA’s final season will begin on Sunday, February 12, 2023.
There have been eight female winners, nine male winners, and 2009 joint winners in the previous 18 seasons (Season 5).
