In the Downtown core over the course of three days last week, police detained three teenagers for firearms-related offences and seven others for drug-related offences.

A police officer on a Downtown emphasis patrol observed a subject conducting several drug transactions on June 30 at around 12:30 p.m.

When the suspect was taken into custody, police found out he was 15 years old.

When police searched the teen, they discovered that he was also in possession of 82 fentanyl pills, 5.9 grams of methamphetamine, 500 grams of marijuana, and a handgun with the serial number scratched off.

Due to illegal possession of both drugs and a firearm, police booked the minor into the King County Children and Family Justice Center.

Officers carried out a drug operation near 3rd Avenue and Pike Street three days later, on July 2.

Police were nearby when they observed a person handover a pistol to another person.

When it was safe, police detained both people, discovering their ages to be 16 and 14.

The 14-year-old suspect had 10 prescription opioid tablets in his pocket in addition to the firearm, and the 16-year-old suspect had many fentanyl pills in his possession.

Both suspects were placed under arrest for illegal possession of a firearm and illegal possession of drugs and were taken to the King County Children and Family Justice Center.

Along with the two minors, the operation’s police detained seven adults for drug-related charges and seized more than $1,100 in cash as well as 64 grams of fentanyl, 20 grams of crack cocaine, 21 grams of heroin, and other drugs.
