The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has declared the deadline for the sale of e-PINs and registration for the 2023 Direct Entry (DE) process.
This announcement was made by JAMB’s acting Director of Public Affairs, Fabian Benjamin, on Tuesday.
Changes in the 2023 DE Registration Process:
Reflecting on the 2023 DE registration, which began in February 2023, Benjamin highlighted that the process had been extended and briefly suspended to introduce safeguards aimed at maintaining its integrity.
He emphasized that these changes were necessary to address loopholes that had been exploited by some individuals with vested interests.
As a result of these modifications, the number of candidates increased at certain JAMB offices, and instances of falsification in the DE process were uncovered.
Efforts to Manage Crowding:
To prevent overcrowding at registration centers, the Board has implemented a scheduling system that allocates specific days for candidates to register.
This measure aims to streamline the process and ensure a smoother experience for all participants.
Concerns about Unscrupulous Actions:
JAMB has observed unscrupulous actions carried out by tutorial centers and parents, which negatively impact the education sector and national interests.
Benjamin cautioned all A’level institutions to be vigilant, as there are desperate candidates attempting to compromise their operations.
This warning serves as a reminder for educational institutions to maintain high standards and uphold the integrity of the admissions process.
Deadline and Urgency to Register:
The statement concluded by emphasizing that genuine aspiring DE candidates who have not yet registered must do so promptly.
JAMB will not entertain any further extensions beyond the announced deadline.
