It was a resounding defeat.
A Joan Rivers clip in which the late comedian criticizes Princess Diana leaked earlier this month.
The tape, which was shared on Monday and has been viewed 884,00 times, depicts Rivers at an event in 2013 alleging that the late Princess of Wales “didn’t know when the good times were with her.”
“Observe the gay men becoming silent,” Rivers stated at the time. You should never comment to gay guys that Barbra Streisand or Princess Diana are ugly.
“I despised her,” said Rivers, who passed away in 2014 at the age of 81 due to complications from throat surgery.
“Are you aware of why I disliked her? Because she was unaware of when she might experience happiness. You’re silly if you don’t know when the good times are with you people.”
In her Diana roast, the late comedian didn’t stop there.
“Darling “I love you very much,” Rivers impersonated Prince William as he spoke to Catherine Middleton. “I want you to have the engagement ring my mother wore. My mother and father have always loathed one another. Good luck!”
“I’m not happy,” continued Rivers. “She was tall, skinny, beautiful, young, wealthy, and had a husband who refused to have sexual relations with her. She was crowned!”
The comedian makes light of Prince William gifting Kate Middleton his mother’s engagement diamond in a second video posted to the account.
“Darling, I love you very much,” Rivers impersonated Prince William as he addressed Kate Middleton.
“I want you to have the engagement ring my mother wore. My mother and father have always loathed one another. Best of luck!
