Jose Trevino not only earned an All-Star selection and a Gold Glove Award after his breakout 2022 season with the Yankees.
He also won the title of coolest dad after dressing up as the team’s catcher for his son’s career day at school.
Josiah Cruz Trevino requested that his dad dresses in his catching gear, complete with eye black and cleats, and the resulting photo of Jose squatting on a tiny chair with his son in his arms went viral.
Trevino was impressed by the other parents who participated in a career day, which included a fireman, an electrician, and a child counsellor.
Looking ahead to the upcoming season, Trevino feels ready and excited to see what it brings, especially as he is likely to be the starting catcher for the Yankees with Kyle Higashioka participating in the World Baseball Classic and Ben Rortvedt undergoing shoulder surgery.
