Hear, all! Hear, all!
Kanye West’s attorneys are so dissatisfied with their inability to reach him that they want to place newspaper ads informing him that they no longer represent him.
Greenberg Traurig stated in legal documents that it would require “alternative means” to properly notify rapper Ye that it was no longer defending him in a New York lawsuit.
The company officially ceased representing Ye on November 30, the day before he appeared on Alex Jones’ “Infowars” wearing a gimp mask and expressing his admiration for Nazis and Adolf Hitler.
However, the firm experienced a total “breakdown in communication” with the disgraced tycoon, who frequently ghosted them and “deactivated the phone number previously used to contact him,” according to the company’s report.
The legal team was granted permission to cease defending Ye the day before he donned a gimp mask while describing his admiration for Nazis and Hitler to Alex Jones.
The company’s brief on Friday asked District Judge Analisa Torres for an extension and permission to use “alternative means” to notify Ye of their withdrawal from the case.
Specifically, they will force him to read about it in two Los Angeles newspapers, according to the document, which does not specify which papers or when the ads will run.
“Given Ye’s public status, it is likely that publication of the Withdrawal Order will garner significant media attention, resulting in wider publication and increasing the likelihood that Ye will be notified of the Order,” the firm stated of the allegedly concealing celebrity.
Greenberg Traurig also requested authorization to simply mail the order to “two possible addresses likely to be Ye’s California residences” – Calabasas and Malibu.
The law company fired Ye in the midst of his bizarre media tour in which he spread anti-Semitic conspiracies.
The company “has dispatched process servers to the addresses it previously knew Ye to frequent and has exhausted all means of contacting Ye to arrange for service, including through Ye’s legal representatives and directly through Ye.” It requested a delay until February 9.
The company stated that its frustration “mirrors” that of Thomas St. John, Ye’s former business manager, who “documented similar unsuccessful attempts to serve Ye.”
This filing late last month generated reports that the rapper had vanished as a result of the mounting outrage against his anti-Semitic outbursts, which also resulted in his business partners abandoning him and destroying his status as a billionaire.
Legal experts have cautioned that he risks additional financial devastation if he refuses to answer to the various cases he faces
Ye emerged this week, apparently after marrying Yeezy architectural designer Bianca Censori, who resembles his ex-girlfriend Kim Kardashian. However, he does not appear to have made it legal with a marriage license.
