Unseen Photo of Queen Elizabeth II Released on her 97th Birthday
The Princess of Wales has released an unseen photo of the late Queen Elizabeth II on what would have been her 97th birthday.
The loving photo was taken by Kate Middleton and features the Queen with some of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
The photo was taken at the Queen’s Balmoral estate in Scotland last summer.
The photo shows Prince George and Princess Charlotte standing behind the Queen, grinning from ear to ear. Prince Louis is standing to the Queen’s left, sporting a similar smile.
Both boys are wearing smart collared shirts with their top buttons undone, while Charlotte appears in a summery floral dress.
The Queen is pictured in the middle of the group, with a blanket over her legs.
Other members of the family included in the photo are Lady Louise Mountbatten-Windsor, James, Earl of Wessex, Lena Tindall, Isla Phillips, Mia Tindall, Lucas Tindall, and Savannah Phillips.
Poignantly, the photo was taken in August, just a few weeks before Britain’s longest-reigning monarch passed away at the age of 96.
Tribute to Queen Elizabeth II
The photo was shared from the Kensington Palace official Twitter account alongside a caption in tribute to the Queen on what would have been her 97th birthday.
The Royal Family also paid tribute to the Queen on Instagram, sharing an image of the Queen and writing, “Today we remember the incredible life and legacy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, on what would have been her 97th birthday.”
