Kgaogelo Chauke, a South African-born midfielder, has signed a big two-year contract with Southampton in the Premier League.
At just 19 years of age, he is following in the footsteps of legendry SA players like Tau, McCarthy and Pienaar. He was linked with a move to Manchester City earlier this season.
Two years after signing his first professional contract, the gifted youth has been in and around the first-team set-up, making his FA Cup debut in January 2021 under Ralph Hasenhüttl.
Chauke has a massive future ahead of him. He has just finished school and he is already playing in England, for a side with a massive history.
He’s captained their Premier League 2 side for most of 2021/22 and has been rated amongst the finest prospects within the club’s esteemed academy.
The player and his representatives agreed to the new contract with the Saints on the condition of securing a loan agreement to help him develop with regular senior first-team games, according to The Daily Echo.
