Kanye West discussed co-parenting with Kim Kardashian on the “Mind Full” podcast from Alo Yoga. On Friday’s broadcast, the musician spoke with Alo co-founder Danny Harris about his familial dynamics.
In a lengthy reaction to West’s new private school, the musician began discussing his children as “future leaders” and stated that Kardashian is mostly responsible for parenting in their relationship.
“Your residence is your first church. As a result, I continue to give Kim advise on things that can be helpful, as it will be passed on to the children. Approximately 80% of the time, she must continue to raise these children.”
In 2012, the former couple began dating, and in 2014, they wed. Together, West and Kardashian have four children: North, nine, Saint, six, Chicago, four, and Psalm, three. Kardashian filed for divorce from West in February 2021, over seven years after their wedding.
Kardashian and West’s representatives did not immediately reply to Insider’s request for comment.
After filing for divorce in February 2021, Kardashian reportedly demanded joint legal and physical custody of their four children. West requested joint custody of their children in his April 2021 official response. The courts deemed Kardashian legally single in March 2021.

West has been through five attorneys throughout their court struggle, and his current counsel stepped down in August, according to Billboard. Samantha Spector, West’s previous attorney, withdrew from the case owing to “an irreconcilable rift” between her and the rapper, according to the site.
The financial and custody trial between West and the Kardashians is scheduled for December, according to Rolling Stone.
Since his divorce, West has been open about his desire to be involved in his children’s life and to be a present father. He has previously criticized the Skims founder’s parenting choices in interviews and on social media.
In March, West referred to himself on Instagram as the “priest of his home” and claimed he was not permitted to see his children. Please stop with this story, you were just here this morning picking up the kids from school,” Kardashian remarked through Instagram comment.
West claimed earlier this year on Instagram that his daughter was being posted on TikTok against his wishes. Kardashian answered via her Instagram story, “Divorce is traumatic enough for our children, and Kanye’s obsession with trying to control and manipulate our situation in such a nasty and public manner is just causing more suffering for everyone.”
Kardashian said that co-parenting with the rapper was “difficult,” but she has chosen to “take the high road” in their continuing relationship.
