Several passengers have been injured by a knifeman at the Gare du Nord station in Paris.
The chaos began at 6.40am local time in the busiest train station in Europe.
The police shot and “neutralized” the attacker before placing him under arrest.
The actual number of injured individuals is now unknown.
Minister of the Interior Gerald Darmanin stated this morning, “An individual has injured multiple people at Gare du Nord this morning.”
“He was shortly incapacitated. Thank you to the security officers for their prompt and brave response.
The TER Hauts-de-France rail network issued the following statement: “Traffic is disrupted on departure and arrival from Paris Nord.”
“The police have opened fire on a threatening individual who allegedly injured customers at Gare du Nord.”
The individual was subdued, the emergency services intervened, and the individual was evacuated.
“A security perimeter has been established, but normal operations continue at the station.”
