Probe Ordered into Damaged Road Project in KwaZulu-Natal

The action follows the loss of life on the damaged road, which claimed the life of a motorist.
The Executive Council expressed condolences to the family of the victim and tasked a special advisor to conduct an in-depth investigation into the status of repairs to the damaged road.
Devastating Loss of Life
The Provincial Executive Council of KwaZulu-Natal has called for an investigation into a road repair project in Inanda following the loss of life on the damaged road.
The victim, Noxolo Khumalo, sustained fatal injuries after her vehicle allegedly fell into the massive crevice left by a collapsed culvert.
The incident occurred during the early hours of Saturday morning, and medics were unable to save the Howard College student.
Investigation and Progress Report
The Executive Council has tasked a special advisor to investigate the status of repairs to the damaged road in Inanda.
The advisor will conduct an in-depth investigation into the road repair project and report back to the Executive Council.
The Council also said that it will receive a detailed progress report into the rebuilding and reconstruction of infrastructure damaged during last year’s floods.
Demand for Answers
The EFF in eThekwini has demanded answers from the eThekwini Municipality regarding why the road was not barricaded.
