Applications are being accepted from qualified candidates for admission to the two-year National Diploma (ND) and Higher National Diploma (HND) into School of Health Information Management (SHIM) programme at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LUTH), Idi-Araba, beginning in October 2022.
Welcome to the School of Health Information Management, Nigeria’s and Africa’s premier Health Information Management Training School. The Lagos University Teaching Hospital Act established the School as a Monotechnic to train middle-level personnel in Health Information Management. In 2005, the National Board of Technical Education (NBTE) granted the School full accreditation for the National Diploma and Higher National Diploma. From its inception to the present, the School has produced a number of graduates who are excelling in various industries and academia, both at home and abroad. The School is also fully accredited by the Health Records Officers Registration Board of Nigeria (HRORBN).
LUTH SHIM Admission Requirements for ND Applicants
To be eligible for the course, you must possess the following qualifications:
- Entry qualification at the ND level is five (5) Credit Passes in:
- English Language
- Mathematics
- Biology/Health Science
- Chemistry and/or Physics and
- Any other subject in not more than two (2) sittings.
- Prospective ND Candidates are expected to have sat for the Unified Tertiary Institutions Matriculation Examination (UTME) and obtained the prescribed cut-off mark for a particular admission year.
- Post-Jamb Screening will be conducted at the School Hall/the Human Resources Center for Prospective ND Candidates.
LUTH SHIM Admission Requirements for HND Applicants
To be eligible for the course, you must possess the following qualifications:
- Five(5) O’Level Credits in:
- English Language
- Mathematics
- Biology/Health Science
- Chemistry and/or Physics and
- Any other subject in not more than two (2) sittings.
- National Diploma Certificate in Health Information Management with grade not below Lower Credit (from NBTE Accredited Institutions ONLY)
- Show and upload evidence of completion of one (1) year Industrial/Clinical Attachment from a reputable health institution.
- A functional email
- There will be a written Test and Oral Interview for Candidates intending to pursue HND holds at the School Hall/Human Resources Center.
How to Apply for LUTH School of Health Information Management Admission
The Application Fee is N10,000.
- Go to the Admission Portal at https://luth.gov.ng/schools and select your preferred school.
- Fill out the Account Creation Form Make sure you provide accurate information and a working email address. Following the creation of your account, you will receive an email with your login information. You will receive instructions on how to make payment, either immediately or later.
- If you want to make a payment right away, a prompt to “MAKE PAYMENT” will appear after you create an account.
- You will be redirected to the Remita website to complete your payment. A Remita Retrieval Reference (RRR) code, which was generated automatically when your account was created, will be attached. Please be aware that the platform accepts a variety of payment methods.
- Following successful payment, the applicant should go to https://luth.gov.ng/profile, login with the user ID provided in the email, and fill out the Application Form for the desired programme.
NOTE: APPLICANTS MUST PRINT THEIR COMPLETED ONLINE APPLICATION BIO-DATA, WHICH IS SENT TO THEIR EMAIL AFTER APPLICATION COMPLETION. SHORT-LISTED APPLICANTS WILL BE REQUIRED TO PRESENT THIS DURING THE ENTRANCE EXAMINATION.
