Leah Remini is adjusting to life without her 18-year-old daughter now that she has left for college.
Despite the fact that Sofia technically began her first year in 2022, Remini informed her Instagram fans on Monday that the adolescent returned home for a little break prior to choosing a new college.
The 52-year-old actress stated, “In August, our daughter Sofia enrolled in a college she believed was right for her.” “I transferred her into a dorm room and returned home in a state of heartbreak.
Remini stated, “For many reasons, that school did not make sense for her.” Therefore, she left, and we were able to enjoy her company for a few more months.
The adolescent began attending a new school “a few weeks ago” and relocated to an apartment away from home.
“You’d think it would be easier the second time around, but [my husband] Angelo and I are even more of a mess now,” the “King of Queens” alum said of the “emotional” milestone.
Remini, who is a student at New York University, stated, “She’s back in the swing of things, experiencing everything a first-year college student should experience, while her parents are experiencing what parents like us experience.”
“We are crying and do not know what else to do besides look at pictures and videos and cry some more.”
The Emmy-winning actress went on to express her delight in her child’s “course correction.”
She said, “There is no point in persisting with something that doesn’t work. In any circumstance. At any time during your life.”
In the comments area, Pagan, 54, made a reference to Sofia’s school by saying, “Now she believes she’s running New York.”
While he and the “Kevin Can Wait” star have largely kept Sofia out of the public eye since filming their short-lived reality program “It’s All Relative” in 2014, the couple did film their daughter’s prom in May 2022.
Remini wrote at the time to her teen, “Senior year is filled with exciting milestones, but it doesn’t make it any less sad for parents when we wonder how time flew by so quickly.”
“Angelo and I could not be more proud of the young woman Sofia is becoming,” ended the former co-host of “The Talk.”
Later that month, when Sofia graduated, Pagan wrote that he was “overcome with emotion.”
