With the ongoing pandemic, universities and schools are receiving billions of federal relief funds to adopt technology for online and hybrid learning.
However, ed-tech leaders and educators are facing a challenge in figuring out how to utilize these new tools to reimagine education and improve academic performance.
At the annual ASU+GSV Summit, a seminar led by several experts discussed this challenge.
Among the experts were Mark Angel, CEO of Amira Learning; Paul LeBlanc, President of Southern New Hampshire University (SNHU); Jamie Candee, President and CEO of Edmentum; Kent Pekel, Superintendent of Rochester Public Schools; and Kristen Fox, Managing Director of Tyton Partners.
The seminar, titled “Has EdTech Really Changed Anything? Can EdTech Drive Results in a Brave New World?”, focused on the latest capabilities of new ed-tech tools and how they have affected educators’ approach to instruction.
One of the seminar’s speakers was Paul LeBlanc, who built SNHU into the largest nonprofit online educational institution in the U.S. since taking over in 2003.
Fast Company magazine even named SNHU one of the 50 most innovative companies in the world.
