The expansion, set to take effect on August 29, is expected to generate an average of £200 million per year in the first two years, declining to £50 million in subsequent years as drivers transition to cleaner vehicles.
The Ulez, introduced in central London in 2019, aims to reduce vehicle emissions and will require a daily charge of £12.50 for vehicles that do not meet the exhaust emission standards.
However, compliance rates within the current Ulez zone are high, exempting approximately 95% of cars from the levy.
