According to rumors on Monday, Liverpool attacker Luis Diaz will be out until after the World Cup owing to a knee injury.
During the opening period of Sunday’s 3-2 Premier League loss for Liverpool at Arsenal, Diaz sustained the injury.
The 25-year-old Colombian walked out of Emirates Stadium on crutches, his knee braced.
Despite the fact that Diaz’s scans indicate he does not need surgery, the injury is expected to keep him sidelined until after the World Cup, which begins on November 20.
Diaz will miss at least 10 games for Jurgen Klopp’s faltering Liverpool, who trail Premier League leaders Arsenal by 14 points.
It is another another setback for Liverpool. Diaz has risen to prominence after signing from Porto in January.
He hopes to be back in action by the time the Premier League returns in December, following the World Cup.
The Reds already have a slew of injury concerns, with Trent Alexander-Arnold awaiting the results of ankle tests after suffering an injury against Arsenal.
