According to reports, an Atlanta, Georgia man was detained for reportedly exploiting a broken window at the Dekalb County Jail to supply commodities such as narcotics, tobacco, cell phones, and chicken wings.
Investigators accused Michael Anthony Dixon with crossing a guard line with firearms, intoxicants, and drugs without consent, criminal trespass, possession of marijuana, and possession of cocaine with intent to distribute, according to Atlanta’s Fox affiliate WAGA.
Dixon, who, according to the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office, was carrying a box cutter, was apprehended outside the prison on February 3 after passing the guard line.
During a search of the area, deputies discovered a concealed white back in surrounding undergrowth.
According to WAGA, Chief Deputy Randy Akies remarked, “Our ‘Eyes in the Sky’ operation continues to be effective this year as we foil attempts by inmates and their outside accomplices to bring illegal and potentially dangerous items into the jail.” “This behavior threatens the safety of the intended recipients and those in our custody and on our staff, and Sheriff Maddox has made it clear that it will not be condoned. Infringers shall be prosecuted to the maximum extent of the law.”
