Thursday’s 1-0 victory against Leicester City at the King Power Stadium gave Manchester United their third consecutive Premier League victory. Jadon Sancho scored the game-winning goal in the first half.
Sancho rounded goalkeeper Danny Ward and slipped the ball in in the 23rd minute after being set up by Marcus Rashford after a right-wing burst by Bruno Fernandes.
James Maddison came close for Leicester with a stunning free kick that forced David De Gea of Manchester United to make an outstanding save, but the home team struggled to generate opportunities.

United’s manager, Erik ten Hag, decided to replace Wayne Rooney with Cristiano Ronaldo in the 68th minute since the team lacked a cutting edge after the half.
Ronaldo, who had been linked with a move away from the club throughout the summer window, came close to scoring with a bicycle kick and gave United’s offensive a boost.
United earned back-to-back road triumphs as Leicester’s James Justin fired high and wide from a great position on the right as Leicester had a late opportunity to equalize.
United is now in fifth position with nine points after five matches, six points behind leaders Arsenal and four points behind second-place Manchester City. Leicester remains in last place with one point.
