On Thursday, Mario Fernandez Saldana, the husband of Jared Bridegan’s ex-wife, was indicted on first-degree murder charges for Bridegan’s murder in February 2021.
According to First Coast News, Fernandez Saldana is currently married to Shanna Gardner-Fernandez, with whom Bridegan shared two children and was in a contentious custody battle shortly before his killing.
Bridegan was killed in front of his 2-year-old daughter Bexley, whom he shared with his current wife.
He had pulled over to remove a tire from the road when he was gunned down in what police believe was a planned ambush.
Bexley was left alone in the car for a few minutes until a passerby noticed her father dead on the road and called 911.
Just a few hours before Fernandez Saldana’s arrest, Henry Tenon pleaded guilty to second-degree murder charges in the killing.
However, it remains unknown how Tenon and Fernandez Saldana worked together.
