Maya Hawke stated that having famous parents affords her “enormous advantages in life,” but that she works hard and does not take her opportunities for granted.
The actress and singer, who is the daughter of actors Ethan Hawke and Uma Thurman, stated that she “had no idea” who she would be if she were not the child of two celebrities. She told Rolling Stone, however, that she is aware of the rights she has been granted.
Hawke told Rolling Stone, “I believe like the only way to deal with nepotism, which offers you tremendous benefits in life, is to accept that you will receive free opportunities, but they are limited.” “Therefore, you must continue working and perform well. If you perform poorly, your opportunities will cease. This is my credo.”
Hawke portrays Robin in the third season of the Netflix series “Stranger Things,” which she joined in 2019.
“Stranger Things” on Netflix stars Maya Hawke, Joe Keery, and Joseph Quinn as Robin, Steve, and Eddie, respectively.

Now, following the conclusion of the show’s fourth season in July, Hawke is preparing to release her upcoming album “Moss” on September 23.
Her words reflect those she made in a 2020 Nylon feature, in which she stated that she will “work as hard as I can to be exceptional” with the opportunities she obtains, since “if I stink enough,” they will be taken away.
The actor told Rolling Stone that she handles with nepotism-related criticism by not regularly connecting with “haters or complimenters.”
“I love this bit of advise I’ve received, which is that if you read the positive reviews, they’re partially accurate, and if you read the negative reviews, they’re also partially accurate,” Hawke added. “You are neither God’s gift to humanity nor a piece of filthy trash. You are neither neither and both.”
