McDonald’s Australia has significantly raised pricing

McDonald’s Australia hikes prices drastically without NOTIFYING ANYONE; here’s how much your next meal will cost.

Some popular McDonald’s items have nearly doubled in price over the past three years.

In 2019, a Big Mac cost $5.65 and now costs $7.60, whereas soft serve costs 80c.

Inflation has increased to 6.1% while wages have increased by only 2.6%.

Australians criticize McDonald’s for nearly tripling the price of popular menu items in response to growing inflation and production expenses.

One Australian went so far as to call the increased rates a “joke” in a Reddit discussion in which people discussed “subtle signals” of a recession.

Even a soft-serve cone costs more now, according to a comparison of the prices of items in 2019 and those currently advertised for sale in 2022.

In some circumstances, franchisees are responsible for establishing and altering the prices of menu items, resulting in a little price variance between locations.

Richard Hill, the licensee of seven McDonald’s locations in Perth, Washington, attributed the price rise to growing inflation and production expenses.

In July, he told PerthNow, ‘This is the harshest climate I’ve ever seen, and I’ve been in the company for 40 years.’

We’re paying twice as much for a piece of equipment as we would have two years ago since the cost of international transportation has increased considerably.

Last month, dissatisfied McDonalds customers complained on social media that the size of menu items such as the McChicken and Filet-O-Fish was decreasing.

Are Mc Donald Filet-O-Fish typically this small? I don’t recall it being this small and child-sized?! one consumer posted on Facebook.

One customer complained on Facebook about the size disparity between a Filet-O-Fish and the restaurant’s McChicken and beef burger.

In the comments, foodies were eager to concur with the dissatisfied consumer, with one claiming the burgers are now “very little.”

We consumed Big Macs last week. Not only have the buns shrunk, but the meat patties have also become transparently thin. Was as if they had cut them in half,’ remarked one member.

Another responded, “Just like the quarter pounder, which acquired its name because it originally contained a quarter pound of beef, but is now barely that.”

“Inflated pricing, deflated goods,” added a third.

A spokeswoman stated, “the size of the burgers has not changed.”

We are committed to providing our consumers with high-quality, affordable burgers made with 100% RSPCA-approved chicken and 100% Australian beef.

McDonald’s denies the customer’s claims as a spokesperson said ‘there have been no changes’ to the outlet’s burgers

The cost of living problem and growing inflation rates in Australia have touched nearly every cost of living, including gasoline, groceries, fast food, and power.

Over the past year, inflation has surged by 6.1%, causing food and energy prices to jump, while earnings have only increased by 2.6%.

Interest rates have continued to increase in tandem with inflation, driving increasing monthly mortgage payments and energy costs.

The expiration of the fuel duty decrease on September 28 will result in a 22-cent-per-liter (c/L) increase in the price of gasoline, which will be a burden for vehicle owners.

McDonalds has been contacted by Daily Mail Australia for comment on the price increase.
