Meet These Famous Celebrities Who Are Golf Lovers

Golf isn’t just for sports people! Meet these famous celebrities who are golf lovers, and start finding your own passion for the game.

If you’re a golf fan, chances are you have your favorite players and you’re well aware of the names to look out for on any given tour. But golf is also a much-loved sport in Hollywood, with many celebrities heading to the golf course when they need a break from their busy lives.

Meet these famous celebrities who are golf lovers as well as the well-known movie or music icons! If you’re looking for some new golf motivation, these 7 celebs will help spur you on to improve your game.

Caitlyn Jenner

Caitlyn Jenner has always been an avid golfer and now has a handicap of around 6 or 7, placing her in the “excellent” category. She plays at a variety of clubs across California but is apparently a member of the exclusive Sherwood Country Club.

According to Jenner, even around the age of 70ish, she can still pack a punch on the course, driving almost 300 yards. With almost 2 decades of experience in the sport, it’s no wonder she both enjoys and kills it on the golf course.

Justin Timberlake

The award-winning, boyish singer/songwriter has been a keen golfer for many years, currently playing to a 6 handicap. He’s also well-respected in the golfing world, being one of the few celebs to host a PGA Tour.

Timberlake actually bought the course he learned to play on, which was called Big Creek Golf Course. Under his guidance, it transformed into the eco-friendly golf course known as Mirimichi, which he sold a few years later.

Niall Horan

You probably know him as one of the fresh-faced and angel-voiced One Direction boys, but Niall Horan is mad about golf and is now firmly entrenched in the sport career-wise.

The former boyband member founded Modest! Golf in 2016 and aims to make the sport more inclusive. He and his company have done good work to grow both junior and women’s golf. They’re also behind the ISPS HANDA World Invitational mixed tournament.

On the course, Horan has a handicap of 8, and aims to bring it down to 5. He’s a self-professed golf addict and has a special passion for stats!

Celine Dion

Her voice may be her claim to fame, but Celine Dion’s golf swing is also something to be admired. Dion and her late husband, René Angélil, always had a passion for golf and were regularly out on the course. With a handicap of 17, Dion is definitely in the top tier of golf-loving celebrities.

She doesn’t only love playing the game. Dion and her husband bought Club de Golf le Mirage in 1997 in Quebec, which she recently sold to hockey legend Serge Savard.

Zac Efron

Zac Efron is a much-loved actor, both by older generations for his depth and by younger generations as a bit of a sex icon. But he’s also a huge fan of the sport, being spotted on multiple occasions enjoying his birthday with friends on the golf course.

He has a 14 handicap, which isn’t quite as high as some of the celebs on this list, but he’s also one of the youngest players on this list. Plenty of time for him to get to single figures!

Alice Cooper

The controversial rock legend may not look it, but he loves spending time on the golf course. According to Cooper, he discovered a love for golf when looking for something to curb his drinking. He estimates that he spends 300 days a year on the course!

All that practice pays off, though, because the singer has a handicap of 4. If he ever decided on a change of career, he could fit right in with the pros! He’s also published a book titled “Alice Cooper, Golf Monster: A Rock ‘n’ Roller’s Life and 12 Steps to Becoming a Golf Addict”. If that doesn’t tell you how much he loves golf, nothing will!

Conclusion

We love that golf is accessible to everyone, no matter what kind of person you are, how old you are, your gender, or your skill level. Now that you know a few of the celebrities who are golf lovers, you have double the inspiration for your own game!

Have these celebrities inspired you to go out and improve your own game? If they can find the time to hone their skills down to single-digit handicaps in between filming moves and doing concerts across the world, then there’s hope for those of us who are just golfing in between work and family life!
