Megyn Kelly was “uncomfortable” and “gross” while observing First Lady Jill Biden kiss second gentleman Doug Emhoff on the lips during Tuesday night’s State of the Union speech.
Kelly stated during Wednesday’s broadcast of her SiriusXM podcast “The Megyn Kelly Show”: “People should never kiss the mouth of anyone who is not their husband or spouse.”
“I’m sorry, but seeing Kamala’s husband and Joe Biden’s wife kissing on the lips [during Tuesday night’s State of the Union] is secondhand uncomfortable…”
On Wednesday, the photograph of Biden and Emhoff kissing before President Biden’s speech went viral.
As she moved through the crowded halls, the first lady planted a kiss on the spouse of Vice President Kamala Harris.
Kelly stated that she cannot tolerate the idea of a man who is not her husband kissing her on the lips.
Never, said Kelly on Wednesday. “Do not kiss me on the lips. Don’t do it.”
In fact, do not kiss me, and you should definitely avoid hugging me as well.
Kelly stated that she would be satisfied with “a wave or a pat.”
“I’ll take it,” she responded. “Unquestionably no mouth kissing. Gross.”
Kelly continued, “I have no idea where your mouth has been, and I have no desire to find out.”
Even after the kiss, the first lady and Emhoff shook hands, exchanged a short smile, and then embraced quickly.
No one in the close proximity appeared perturbed by the president’s wife and vice president’s husband’s passionate embrace. The gathering continued to applaud despite the odd pecking order.
