Memphis jogger’s disappearance man

The city of Memphis, Tennessee — Tennessee police announced on Sunday that an arrest has been made in connection with the kidnapping of Eliza Fletcher, a jogger from Memphis who has been missing for the past week.

Cleotha Abston, 38, has been charged with exceptionally aggravated kidnapping and tampering with evidence in Fletcher’s disappearance, according to the Memphis Police Department. A second person was apprehended, but according to police, that individual is “currently not thought to be involved” to Fletcher’s kidnapping on Friday morning.

“This investigation remains active and ongoing,” police said on Twitter.

Authorities claim that 34-year-old Fletcher was forced into a vehicle while jogging near the campus of the University of Memphis. She was jogging when a man approached her and, after a fight, forced her into a dark-colored GMC Terrain. Fletcher was reported missing when she failed to return to her residence.

According to press sources, Fletcher is the granddaughter of the late Joseph “Joe” Orgill III, a Memphis hardware magnate and philanthropist.

According to police, Fletcher remains missing.

“MPD Investigators and Officers, together with our local and federal colleagues, are continuing their search for Mrs. Fletcher,” the police said.
