»Michael Bay is accused of killing a pigeon in Italy, but the director rejects the charge«
Michael Bay is purportedly accused of killing a pigeon during a film shoot in Italy five years ago, but he denies the allegations.
The Wrap stated that the acclaimed filmmaker is now responding to the charges after allegedly attempting to clean his name with authorities.
“I am a renowned animal advocate and animal lover,” Bay told The Wrap. “No animals were damaged or harmed in the course of filming. Or on any other production I’ve been a part of in the previous thirty years.”
In Italy, it is against the law to capture, damage, or kill wild birds, especially pigeons, who are protected under the EU Birds Directive.
A protected homing pigeon was reportedly killed during the 2018 production of “6 Underground,” according to the authorities. According to a source, the bird was purportedly killed by a dolly during a take in Rome, and an unknown crew member photographed and reported the incident to the authorities.
“We have clear video evidence, numerous witnesses, and safety officers to refute these allegations,” Bay stated. And refutes their one paparazzi photograph, which presents a deceptive account.”
While the ongoing litigation barred Bay from providing specifics, he expressed “confidence in our eventual victory.”
Bay stated that he was offered a proposal to settle the matter by paying a fine, but the 57-year-old refused to “plead guilty to animal cruelty.”
While sequences were shot in a variety of international locales, IMDb includes many sites in Italy. The 2019 action-packed film starring Ryan Reynolds is about a millionaire who employs a squad of six individuals to fake their deaths in order to serve justice.
This is not the first time Bay has been criticized in public. Megan Fox criticized the director for his “be hot” directive on the “Transformers” set many years ago.
“Like Napoleon, he desires to establish a reputation as a crazy, infamous madman. Fox said of Bay in 2009, describing him as a “nightmare,” “He wants to be like Hitler on his sets, and he is.”
“‘Mike,’ I’ll say, ‘Who am I talking to? Where should I be focusing my gaze?’ “And he replies, ‘Just be seductive,’” she continued. “I get angry when people speak to me in this manner.”
The interview apparently led to her dismissal from the cast of “Terminators,” as she did not appear in the third sequel.
The filmmaker allegedly “body shamed” “Pearl Harbor” actress Kate Beckinsale by urging her to exercise for her role after the birth of her kid, although he did not believe it was cruel. Additionally, he supposedly stated that Kate Winslet in her performance in “Titanic” was “not overwhelmingly beautiful.”
