Molly Jong Fast compares DeSantis to Genghis Khan over his opposition to CRT

In a recent article, renowned literary nepotism Molly Jong-Fast compared the wildly popular Florida governor Ron DeSantis to the murderous Mongol warlord Ghengis Khan.

DeSantis was referred to in the piece as being “just as dangerous to democracy” as previous President Donald Trump, which appeared on Thursday. Ron DeSantis shouldn’t be treated as simply another Republican, the article’s title read.

Though for somewhat different reasons, Jong-Fast compares DeSantis to Trump as a menace that is as potent.

When compared to the previous president, DeSantis is “like Shakespeare,” but he is also “the Ghengis Khan of social issues.”

According to Jong-Fast and her fellow members of the pundit class, Trump’s election and tenure as president seriously harmed and endangered democracy. DeSantis is “slightly less disgusting” and “a good bit more coherent” than Trump, but anyone who thought the frantic left-wing writing and podcasting would stop because of this is in for an unpleasant awakening.

No, according to Jong-Fast, DeSantis should also never be normalized.

To refer to DeSantis as a culture warrior is a terrible underestimation of the man’s potential. He uses every opportunity to target and demonize those that have already been maligned historically; he is the Genghis Khan of social concerns, the author claimed.

DeSantis appears to have perfected the authoritarian cliché of marginalizing vulnerable people.

Despite having a prior career as the boho-chic Upper East Side daughter of renowned authors, Jong-Fast and her army of 1 million Twitter followers rose to prominence during the Trump administration as the underdog commentator.

Jong-Fast hosts the continual stream of resistance Twitter philosophers from her widely publicized multimillion-dollar Upper East Side residence, many of whom routinely criticize conservatives.

Jong-Fast is not so gently hinting that it’s time to give DeSantis the ole’ Trump treatment as the race for the presidency heats up, with an announcement from former South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley earlier this week – the first to officially throw her hat in the ring since Trump.

In particular, Jong-Fast uses DeSantis’ forceful (she uses the word “authoritarian”) criticism of Critical Race Theory as proof of his risky behavior.

DeSantis claimed education should be “grounded in actual history” and the “actual philosophy that has shaped western civilization” last month when he said he would cancel funding to all CRT and DEI programs at state colleges.

According to her, this strategy is a “right-wing assault on Florida’s education,” all in the sake of promoting the governor’s “brand.”

She is even more put off by DeSantis’ refusal to seek for the “free press” endorsement, which he is aware he will never receive.

In response, Jong-Fast is perplexed by the fact that none of her colleagues mainstream thinkers and writers have criticized his policies.

The same free press that helped DeSantis gain acceptance? DeSantis appears to have little use for it and even wants to make it simpler to sue news companies successfully, which may potentially stifle press freedom, she said.

DeSantis has not yet formally entered the running for president in the GOP in 2024. Despite this, Jong Fast has promised her followers a cycle of upcoming coverage that will be just as absurd before 2024.

She concluded by stating dramatically: “We need to be unflinching in our coverage of the presidential campaign, while we are still allowed to cover them.”
