There is no point in crying over spilled milk, but there is justification for fighting over spilled wine.
Megan Ware, 22, from the United Kingdom struck Emma Mitchell in the face over some wine spilled on her dress, knocking out two of her teeth, causing havoc during a gender reveal party.
According to Cavendish Press, Ware, a mother of two, allegedly followed Mitchell out of the pub and assaulted her. Police were called to the scene on October 7 and discovered that she had also pulled the hair of Emma Pinnington prior to hitting Mitchell.
During an interview, Ware reportedly claimed that she was so inebriated that she could not recall who had poured the drink on her, characterizing herself as “10 out of 10 drunk.”
At the Chester Magistrates’ Court, Ware pled guilty to two counts of assault and being drunk and disorderly. She was ordered to compensate Mitchell for $480 and Pinnington for $120.
The prosecutor, Laura Simpson, stated that Mitchell and Pinnington were out with friends in Chester on October 7 when the attack occurred.
“They went to the Victoria Pub and departed at 2:00 a.m., but while they were walking to a taxi rank, Miss Mitchell said she felt the defendant, who was behind her, yanking her hair,” she told Cavendish Press.
Simpson stated that she struck Mitchell with “considerable force,” adding that it was “so forcefully that two of her bottom teeth were knocked out.”
“A police officer witnessed the assault on Miss Mitchell and separated the defendant from her,” she said, adding that it “looked” Pinnington was also assaulted.
“Officers arrested the defendant, but she continued to be violent and yelled and swore,” Simpson said. “During a later interview, the defendant recalled being quite intoxicated. She remembered getting into a fight after someone poured a drink over her.”
Simpson stated that she struck Mitchell with “considerable force,” adding that it was “so forcefully that two of her bottom teeth were knocked out.”
Chris Hunt, Ware’s defense attorney, stated that Ware, who has a 1-year-old and a 3-year-old child, has no past convictions and that “she does not go out frequently and she does not drink frequently.”
“She hit Miss Mitchell while she was on the ground, knocking out her teeth,” Hunt claimed. It was a prolonged assault on two unidentified women.
According to Hunt, who highlighted that Mitchell may have been wearing dentures, Ware acknowledges that she drank excessively.
The magistrates imposed an eight-week curfew from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. on Ware.
Chairwoman Jane Davies stated that they listened to Ware’s attorney and that her good reputation “held up well” for Ware’s conviction.
It’s not the first time a gender reveal party has ended in pandemonium, with stunts intended to show visitors the sex of their newborn child sometimes resulting in harm or even death.
In 2020, an explosive revelation in San Bernardino County, California ignited a forest fire that destroyed approximately 23,000 acres around El Dorado Ranch Park, forcing the trend’s inventor, Jenna Karvunidis, to criticize future events.
“For the love of God, cease setting things on fire so that you can tell everyone about your child’s penis. “Only you care,” a parenting blogger stated in 2020.
