The mother of a murdered 18-year-old who wore a T-shirt depicting her daughter’s mangled body to court on Wednesday explained her actions to the media.
Alessandra Verni attended the appeal hearing for 32-year-old Innocent Oseghale, who murdered and dismembered her daughter in January 2018.
Oseghale appeared to fight claims that he sexually molested the adolescent before to her murder. The life sentence is likely to be reduced if the appeal is successful.
Mother Alessandra Verni stated, “After five years, I am beginning to lose trust in justice.
I desired to provide a wake-up call. What is the purpose of re-prosecuting Oseghale, calling sexual violence into question, and allowing the prospect of a sentence reduction?
Did he not commit enough violent acts to warrant life in prison?
After five years of believing that justice was not served, Verni states that she still dreams about her daughter every night.

Wednesday in the appeal court in Perugia, Mastropietro’s mother wore a T-shirt depicting the horrible photographs of her daughter’s body.
The photographs on the shirt had not yet been made public.
The images, according to La Stampa, were postmortem photographs taken by forensics.
Ms. Verni told the Italian source, “anyone who saw those images knew that if they were released to the public, they would shake the consciences.”
She told Fanpage, an additional Italian news website, “it hurt to show her body in pieces, but I had no choice.”
She stated that the courts must now confirm life imprisonment for the man who was convicted of’murder and slander’ against Pamela Mastropietro last year.
A witness hearing has been rescheduled until this year’s 22nd of February, delaying the trial’s proceedings by five years.
Seeking justice, the mother “exploded” with rage and commissioned the shirt to confront the court.
In 2019, Oseghale (pictured) was convicted and sentenced to life in prison with 18 months of solitary confinement.
The tortured and dismembered body of Mastropietro was discovered in suitcases dumped in a ditch.
Ms. Verni has fought an arduous battle for justice.
After a hearing in 2019, she stated that a fast-track trial would be acceptable so long as “the whole truth is revealed.”
“Because it wasn’t just him,” she stated in reference to Oseghale.
Four years later, Verni requested the search for co-conspirators.
She told La Stampa that Osenghale was accompanied by others on the day he murdered Pamela. I do not believe anyone is being investigated. No one is in search of these men.
In another interview, the anguished mother stated, “No one is searching for the murderer’s accomplices.”

Wednesday’s T-shirt depicted Mastropietro’s mutilated head. The series of gruesome images was also designed so that the separated body parts formed the structure of a body.
Oseghale, 32, was found guilty and sentenced to prison in 2019 for the murder of 18-year-old Mastropietro, and he is appealing a portion of his rape conviction.
The judge questioned Oseghale whether he planned to attend the February hearing. After consulting with his attorney, he informed the court that he would not do so.
Verni, who was wearing the T-shirt at the time and was present in the courtroom, screamed out: “Now, even an executioner is asked if he wishes to participate in the hearing.
“Let’s also roll out the red carpet at this point,” she suggested.
After an altercation, the courtroom police withdrew both parties.
If the court of appeals judges Oseghale not guilty of rape, his life sentence will likely be reduced.

The autopsy revealed that Pamela Mastropietro died from several abdomen stab wounds. Additionally, it was discovered that her body was dissected while she was still alive.

The investigators were aware that she opted to leave the facility and walked to the local train station.
After leaving the rehabilitation center, Mastropietro sought to obtain drugs in Macerata. Then, she met Oseghale, a 29-year-old local drug dealer.
A passerby discovered two abandoned luggage in a tiny ditch the following day. The mutilated and dismembered body of Mastropietro was discovered within the case.
Oseghale, a drug dealer, was accused of selling Mastropietro drugs before detaining, raping, and stabbing her.
The courts learned in 2019 that Mastropietro was still alive when Oseghale “attempted to tear her to pieces.”
Police discovered Mastropietro’s bloody garments in Oseghale’s residence.
In his testimony, Oseghale said that Mastropietro died from a heroin overdose.
Nonetheless, an examination revealed that Mastropietro died from multiple abdomen stab wounds. Her body was also discovered to have been mutilated while she was still alive.
Oseghale was charged with murder, sexual assault, concealment, and body disposal. He contested the charges at his February 2019 trial.
He was convicted and condemned to life in prison with 18 months of solitary confinement.
