Loadshedding, which is rapidly becoming the norm, has left many viewers confused and unable to keep up with their favorite television programs.
However, the horror appears to be over with the arrival of Power-Up!, a new channel on Openview that began broadcasting nonstop entertainment on Monday.
The pop-up station will broadcast popular local dramas for 18 hours daily, guaranteeing that no one is left behind even during the most severe rolling blackouts.
Monday through Friday, Power-UP!, channel 114 on Openview, will rerun all the e.tv prime-time hits, including Durban Gen, House of Zwide, Scandal!, and Imbewu: The Seed. The shows will repeat every two hours.
The channel is accessible daily from 6 a.m. to 12 a.m., with The Black Door, an e.tv adult drama, repeating at 11 p.m. on weekends.
Power-UP! will also promote Afrikaans telenovelas with omnibus reruns of all the best-loved Afrikaans dramas on weekends. #DisComplicated, Daai Crazy Somer, Die Vertroueling, and additional tracks will be featured on the pop album.
