New Jersey father who killed his family confessed to a relative before killing himself

Police reported on Monday that a New Jersey man, Krzysztof Nieroda, fatally shot his wife, daughter, and son before killing himself. Nieroda called a family member to confess the crime before shooting himself in the head.

The incident occurred on Sunday in their home in Linden, and the motive behind the murder-suicide remains unknown. The bodies were discovered by the police, and the investigation is still ongoing.

The neighbors, who described the family as friendly and normal, are left grieving and confused about what might have happened to the seemingly happy family.

Nieroda was an electrician, and his wife, Justyna, was a beautician at a beauty salon in Rahway. Their son, Sebastian, had initially survived the shooting but later died at the hospital.

Natalie, their daughter, was in the seventh grade, and Sebastian was in the eighth grade, according to the Linden School District Superintendent.

The school district is providing grief counselors to students and staff, and the governor has pledged to support the community in any way possible.

The officials are using the tragedy to remind those struggling with mental health issues to seek help, and the U.S. National Suicide Prevention Lifeline is available 24/7 for anyone who needs support.
