Niger Republic Military Warns ECOWAS Against Military Intervention Following Coup

The soldiers who executed a coup in Niger Republic recently issued a stern warning to the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) against deploying troops to force them to relinquish power.

The military leaders of Niger declared their readiness to defend their country should ECOWAS resort to military intervention.

The military spokesperson, Colonel Amadou Abdramane, emphasized their determination to safeguard the country’s sovereignty and resist any attempts at aggression.

However, the military leaders in Niger have categorically opposed such intervention, citing a plan of aggression against their country by ECOWAS and certain non-member African countries, as well as Western nations.
