Ekiti State University Ado Ekiti (EKSU) was founded as Obafemi Awolowo University, Ado-Ekiti on 30 March 1982 by the administration of the first civilian governor of Ondo State, the late Chief Michael Adekunle Ajasin. Ekiti State Institution, Ado-Ekiti, as it is known today, was founded in 1982 as a sought-after university, and it is the only university in Nigeria to have had its name changed four times within a quarter century.

The administration of Ekiti State University (EKSU), Ado-Ekiti, has announced the minimum admission score for the 2022/2023 academic year.
Only the applicants who pick EKSU and scored 160 and above in the past UTME and are eligible for the post UTME screening.
Minimum University UTME scores for Law, Nursing, and Medicine (MBBS) are respectively 250, 220, and 250. Candidates with lesser scores in any of the courses listed above may apply for PUTME screening into other courses of their choosing and update their JAMB CAPS profile in order to be considered for admission. Note that EKSU only accepts JUPEB (minimum 7 points) and NOT IJMB for admission.
