On-demand emergency response app Namola joins DStv’s digital ecosystem

MultiChoice continues to provide value to its clients by addressing their difficulties and enhancing their lives with its services.

The acquisition of Namola demonstrates that MultiChoice is upgrading its strategy and broadening its platform ambitions by diversifying the services offered to subscribers beyond video entertainment.

It is about providing a digital ecosystem where clients may access a portfolio of services tailored to their specific requirements.

Namola is a leading safety response app in South Africa that connects people in trouble with its extensive network of emergency suppliers.

It then delivers these responders to the signal of crisis, anywhere and at any time in the nation. The signals can be tracked using a smartphone with wifi/data capabilities.

The Namola application enables users to:

Request help.
With a dispatch time of 2 minutes and 30 seconds, they receive prompt assistance when they require it.
Share their location with loved ones they can trust.
Join conversations within their local communities so that they can share and learn about local events.
Geolocation also enables mobile users to connect with the communities they are in.

Who qualifies?

For convenience and ease of payment, DStv users (Premium, Compact Plus, Compact, Family, Access, and EasyView) can add a Namola subscription to their active DStv bill. Customers of DStv can choose from three plans with rates exclusive to DStv:

Individual Plan (coverage for one individual) – R29pm
Couples Plan (coverage for two individuals) – R49pm
R99pm for a Family Plan (covering up to 5 people).

The only difference between the three aforementioned schemes is the amount of beneficiaries sponsored.

Customers with a valid DStv subscription in South Africa can add Namola to their monthly payment.

Customers with either a decoder subscription or a streaming-only subscription are eligible.

Customers who pay their DStv subscription annually cannot add Namola to their DStv account at this time.

All Namola Plus plans include a free 30-day trial.

A reward for loyalty members

Members of DStv Rewards who sign up for a Namola Plus Family Plan before January 26, 2023 will receive three months free (30-day free trial plus two additional months).

During these three months, any disconnection of DStv or Namola or change to the user’s existing Namola plan would result in the loss of the award.

Customers who wish to receive the three-months-free advantage must be Rewards members PRIOR to signing up for Namola.

Harmonic integration

Customers of DStv in South Africa will be able to sign up for any of Namola’s plans and easily add their Namola subscription to their monthly DStv payment.

The subscription dates for DStv and Namola will be coordinated to fall on the same day, resulting in a single payment day for both services.
