Former Vice President Mike Pence recently avoided commenting on whether his former boss, Donald Trump, should drop out of the 2024 Republican presidential primary if indicted.
Pence, speaking to reporters in New Hampshire, stated that everyone can make their own decisions in a free country.
It is believed that Trump may face an indictment soon over a hush money payment made to porn star Stormy Daniels during his 2016 presidential campaign.
If an indictment is filed, Trump would be the first current or former US president to face criminal charges.
Despite sidestepping the question about a potential indictment, Pence did criticize Trump’s actions on January 6, 2021.
In response to Trump’s accusation that Pence was to blame for the Capitol riot, Pence firmly stated that he had no right to overturn the election and that the presidency belongs solely to the American people.
Pence’s visit to New Hampshire marked his first visit to the state, which holds the first-in-the-nation GOP primary, since he left office.
He is reportedly considering a 2024 presidential run but has not yet made a decision.
