A Florida shooting rampage that claimed the life of a photojournalist’s colleague while they were covering an earlier killing has left the photojournalist injured.
Jesse Walden was taking pictures of the crime scene in Pine Hills on Wednesday when the gunman returned and continued shooting, killing Spectrum News 13 reporter Dylan Lyons and a nine-year-old girl. Recovering from surgery, Walden spoke out from his hospital bed on Thursday, where he lamented the loss of his friend.
Walden and Lyons had been covering the murder of Nathacha Augustin, 38, who died at the scene after being shot earlier that morning.
The gunman then shot and killed a nine-year-old girl and injured her mother before being taken into custody.
Keith Melvin Moses, 19, has been charged with first-degree murder and is refusing to talk to detectives.
