The already enormous Powerball jackpot has reached an estimated $800 million, making it the second-largest payout in the game’s history.
There were no winning tickets sold for Wednesday night’s $700 million Powerball jackpot, the largest of the year. The top prize for Saturday night’s drawing will be at least $800 million. The number may increase as more and more tickets are purchased.
Wednesday marked the 36th consecutive day without a Powerball jackpot winner.
Powerball jackpot winners have the option of receiving their reward in a single sum, which, if won on Saturday, would equal to an estimated $383.7 million in cash value, or as an annuity. This option distributes the entire jackpot amount over about thirty years. All of this would be before to taxation.
The winning numbers for Wednesday night were 19, 36, 37, 46, 56, and a Powerball of 24.
