President Muhammadu Buhari is scheduled to inaugurate the VIP wing of the Medical Centre within the Presidential Villa in Abuja on Friday.
The announcement was made by Abiodun Oladunjoye, the State House Director of Information.
The newly constructed medical centre will coexist with the State House Medical Centre in Asokoro, Abuja.
Advancing Healthcare Management: Buhari Administration’s Commitment
According to the statement, the VIP wing is a legacy project that reflects the Buhari administration’s dedication to improving healthcare management in Nigeria.
With a total floor area of 2,485 square meters, the specialized Intensive Care Centre will provide medical services to the President, Vice President, their immediate families, and VIPs.
The facility is equipped with state-of-the-art medical technology.
Specialized Departments and State-of-the-Art Facilities
The Presidential/VIP Wing houses several specialized departments, staffed by a team of medical professionals.
It features consultation rooms dedicated to various specialties such as respiratory, cardiology, ophthalmology, ENT, and general consultation.
The hospital also includes a specialized X-ray suite with digital X-ray machines, as well as diagnostic facilities such as MRI, CT scan, and endoscopy.
Healing Garden and Organ Transplant Capabilities
Patients and visitors to the medical centre can enjoy the Healing Garden, designed to promote healing, relaxation, and overall well-being.
The VIP Wing, costing a total of N21 billion, also houses a Catheterization Laboratory (Cath lab), two operating rooms for regular and special procedures like organ transplants.
President Buhari to Tour the Hospital
After the inauguration ceremony, President Buhari, accompanied by the Permanent Secretary of the State House, Tijjani Umar, will embark on a guided tour of the medical facility.
The State House Management expressed their excitement that the project is being inaugurated near the end of President Buhari’s tenure, describing it as a transformative achievement.

The statement emphasized that the medical facility remains committed to providing accessible and well-equipped healthcare services, catering to the diverse needs of patients through comprehensive medical treatments.

Guests invited to the inauguration ceremony are expected to be seated by 9:00 a.m., as stated by Abiodun Oladunjoye.
