The National Transportation Safety Board is investigating a private plane crash that occurred on Friday when the Bombardier Challenger 300 business jet hit severe turbulence.
The incident led the aircraft to divert to Bradley International Airport in Windsor Locks, Connecticut. Unfortunately, a passenger on board was killed.
The plane was carrying five people who were traveling from Keene, New Hampshire, to Leesburg, Virginia, according to the NTSB. The agency is interviewing the two crew members and two surviving passengers and has removed the jet’s cockpit voice and data recorders.
A preliminary report is expected to be available in two to three weeks.
According to a Federal Aviation Administration database, the jet belonged to Conexon, a company based in Kansas City, Mo., that provides fiber internet to rural areas. However, the company declined to comment on the incident.
