News released from the Proteas camp reveal that Ngidi couldn’t recover from a back strain suffered before the two-match series which will take place in Christchurch on Friday at 00:00 SA time.
He us therefore ruled out of the match.
Ngidi did not play in the first Test, and the Proteas were hoping to have him back for the final Test against New Zealand on Friday. But now their hope is slashed.
Mark Boucher and his team must therefore find an alternative going into this important Test series decider, especially after Glenton Stuurman’s below-par performance in the first Test.
Stuurman was handed his debut against New Zealand on the day but he struggled and could only card figures of 1/124 which was disappointing.
