Just a few seconds ago, PSL Chairman Irvin Khoza made a significant statement. For the 2022–23 DStv Premiership, spectators will be permitted to reenter stadiums!
Fans haven’t been able to access stadiums to watch the PSL live for well over two years.
Live attendances across the nation will terminate as of March 2020 due to Covid rules. But during the past several weeks, some significant athletic codes have started to let spectators in. More individuals were able to witness their favorite teams in person as restrictions loosened.
Rugby first permitted 500 spectators, then 20.000, before admitting 50% of that number into the United Rugby Championship final and eventually 100% for the Springboks’ three-match Test series against Wales.
The PSL will finally permit supporters to return now! So, how many fans will be permitted to return, when will they start, and is attendance by vaccination required?

The long-awaited and monumental news that we have all been waiting for, about the return of supporters filling stadiums to capacity, was made by Khoza at last.
From the commencement of the DStv Premiership on August 5, 2022, 100 percent attendance will be permitted.
At the PSL headquarters in Parktown on Friday, Khoza reaffirmed this.
Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates’ sold-out Soweto derbies may now be anticipated by Mzanzi! Additionally, there are Tshwane derbies between SuperSport United and Gavin Hunt’s Mamelodi Sundowns, the reigning champions.
