After finding a deep-fried insect trapped in one of her KFC fries, a lady was outraged.
Hannah Stephens, a resident of Queensland, posted images of her KFC meal to the “Tea Time” Facebook group on Sunday night, exposing the crispy insect hidden within the chip.
Social media fans were startled to see the bug, which looked to be nearly as broad as the potato chip it was deep-fried inside.
Ms. Stephens said that the disgusting discovery was more than enough to put her off the fast food chain for good, adding, “As if I’m ever eating there again.”
After informing KFC of her findings, Ms. Stephens updated her post as soon as KFC responded.
I received a $20 discount from KFC, haha She wrote, “I’m sorry, but $20 can’t make up for that s—.”
She said that she had been in touch with the Queensland health department and was now awaiting a reply.
More than 300 embarrassed Facebook group members commented on the post.
One participant said, “I would have been weeping and vomited up.”
Another said, “There’s a good likelihood you’ve eaten additional bugs since you’ve already consumed half the box.”
The insect resembled a damsel bug, which is known for its needle-like mouth and characteristic protruding eyes that it employs to hunt mites, aphids, and insect eggs.
Usually found in row and tree crops, damsel bugs may sometimes be utilized by gardeners to eliminate moth eggs.
The horrifying discovery follows one made in October by a Kwinana, Perth, man who discovered a used food safety glove at the bottom of a package of KFC fries.
You may want to put KFC off for a while. He commented on Facebook that he had discovered used, filthy gloves in a package of chips.
In the same month, a video posted on social media showed young employees at a KFC in Queensland collecting lettuce with their bare hands and licking fried chicken.
