It was all excitements and show of love between the families of Chief Kenechukwu Okoye and Chief Benard Enukaora as their children Reverend Victor-Joseph Chimdiebele traditionally tied the knot with his hearttrob, Miss Chinyere Okoye.
The groom, Reverend Chimdiebele is a native of Umuriam Village, Nawfia in Njikoka Local Government Area, and a priest in the Anglican Communion, while the bride Mrs. Chinyere hails from Amudo Village, Awka.
Correspondent Emmanuel Chigbata, reports that the traditional marriage, which was held at the Ozoagu’s House, the bride’s father compound in Awka, attracted the many dignitaries who came from far and near to witness and join both families in their celebration including Ndi Nze na Ozo Society of Nawfia community.
The event came to its climax when the bride’s father poured out the wine and gave to her daughter who drank and gave her husband as the Igbo culture demands.
The bride and the groom who gorgeously dressed in a colourful and unique Igbo attire later took to the dance floor joined by most of the guests .
The joy and excitement of the parents could be seen, not only in the expression on their faces but in their laughter and dance steps.
Some dignitaries who graced the occasion including, the traditional ruler of Oraukwu community, Igwe Emeka Onuorah, the Presidents General Nawfia Progressive Union, Sir Nathan Enemuo and a stakeholder from Umuokpu-Awka, Chief Emeka Igwe, congratulated the new couple and urged them to uphold family values in their efforts to build a solid home.
In their separate remarks, the bride’s father, Mr. Kenechukwu Okoye and the groom’s elder sister, Mrs. Ifunanya Okoye gave thanks to God for bringing the new couple together to start a new and happy home.
Responding, the new couple, Reverend Chimdiebele and Mrs Okoye, while expressing their joy stated that they were attracted by each other’s sterling qualities.
The event which attracted NollyWood personalities featured cutting of the marriage cake and presentation of Lexus SUV to the couple by the bride’s family .
