Road Closures Implemented for Presidential Swearing-In Ceremony in Nigeria

The Federal Government has revealed plans to implement road closures around the Federal Secretariat Complexes of Phase I, II, and III, as well as the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in preparation for the swearing-in ceremony of President-Elect Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

The closures will be in effect from 2 pm on Friday, May 26, until Monday, May 29, as part of security measures put in place by the Presidential Transition Council (PTC).

Road Closures for Security Purposes:

Dr. Ngozi Onwudiwe, the Permanent Secretary of the Service Welfare Office at the Office of the Head of the Service of the Civil Service of the Federation (HOCSF), issued a circular in Abuja announcing the road closures.

The measures aim to ensure a secure environment for the swearing-in ceremony on May 29.

Restricted Access to Affected Areas:

According to the circular, officers and visitors intending to access the affected areas will not be permitted entry until Tuesday, May 30, when normal work activities will resume.

The closures will facilitate the smooth execution of the presidential transition and ensure the safety of attendees and dignitaries during the ceremony.

Swearing-In of President-Elect Tinubu:

During the event, President-Elect Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu will officially assume office as the President of Nigeria.
