Russia’s Border Patrol Building Goes up in Flames Amid Tensions with Ukraine

A deadly fire broke out this morning at a Russian FSB building in Rostov-on-Don, a city located 75 miles from Ukraine.

The FSB’s border patrol section building was rocked by a series of explosions before it burst into flames.

Eyewitnesses reported hearing explosions before the inferno ripped through the building.

One person died, and two others were injured in the incident.

Video footage shows the building engulfed in flames, with a plume of thick black smoke billowing into the air in a built-up area of the city.

According to reports, ammunition detonated in the FSB’s warehouse, causing the explosions.

Witnesses said a series of explosions were heard every 10 seconds after the ammunition caught fire.

The fire covered an area of 880 square meters, and emergency services have cordoned off the area.

FSB operatives have sought to stop filming of the site of the carnage in Rostov.

Russia fears that a spate of explosions and fires may be caused by sabotage by people opposed to Vladimir Putin’s war in Ukraine.

Putin, a former head of the FSB secret service, is Russia’s main counter-intelligence force, including border guards.

Ukraine has admitted to seeking sabotage attacks inside Russia in revenge for Moscow’s brutal invasion.

However, there have been no reports of incoming missiles or drone attacks.

Ukrainian intelligence chief, Major-General Kyrylo Budanov, said last month that Russia was seeing many unusual explosions and fires. “Much of this is no accident,” he said.

“Something is constantly on fire [in Russia]. Signaling equipment on railways, it lights up several times a day, on various highways constantly for two to three hours, sometimes for five to six hours, traffic gets suspended.”

The incident is a developing story, and more details are yet to follow.
